I had robotic prostatectomy three days ago. How long does the pain last? Pain medication makes me nauseous. Also, my legs are swollen,is this normal?

MHW, The pain quiets down fairly quickly..I found that good old Tylenol works better than the prescription stuff, That crap made me groggy and the pain was still there. Walking was the best medicine..force yourself to walk as much as you can tolerate, it will help the leg swelling as well..it gets the blood flowing to all the right place and fluids don't build up. I'm 4 months out of surgery as of yesterday...fully continent and cancer free!!! Good luck and feel free to ask any questions..the guys here are GREAT!!!!! Wi-Doe

Welcome MHW,

The pain should, as Wi-Doe mentioned easeup quite quickly. I didn't use any of the pain meds that were
prescribed to me. I used the tylenol which did verywell. I got home the next morning, slept for a few hours then the wife and I started the walking, three times a day everyday for a while. I think that might have help keep a good blood flow to the legs.
I wish you the best in your journey and if you have any concerns, everyone here has traveled down he road ahead of you and can offer some good helpful comments.

Kegel on.

Bo.
