Leading prostate cancer surgeon, Dr. David Samadi, shares good news about fight against cancer. While 1 in 4 American deaths are attributed to some form of cancer, cancer death rates are beginning to drop at a promising rate of 1.8% per year for men and 1.6% per year for women. Dr. Samadi credits screening and early diagnosis with the significant progress made, particularly with prostate cancer, lung cancer, breast cancer, and colon cancer. More aggressive and more difficult to detect are pancreatic cancer, liver cancer, thyroid cancer, and kidney cancer. Additionally, Dr. Samadi believes that lifestyle factors including obesity, alcohol consumption, smoking, and sun exposure negatively impact cancer rates.
