Dr. David Samadi, robotic prostate cancer specialist, shares information about the FDA findings of high levels of lead in over 400 brands of lipstick. Currently there are no regulations on the acceptable or safe amount of lead in lipstick. As women lick their lips the lead is ingested, which may be particularly harmful to fetuses in pregnant women. More information is available on the FDA website. Dr. Samadi believes that much more extensive research is needed on this topic.
