Urologic oncologist, Dr. David Samadi, discusses bladder cancer risks and diagnosing bladder cancer. Symptoms of bladder cancer include painless blood in urine and frequent urination. Microscopic blood can also be detected through urinalysis. If bladder cancer is suspected, a scope will be done to look for bladder cancer tumors. Smoking is the number one risk factor for bladder cancer. Radiation for prostate cancer can also lead to bladder cancer.
