Fox News, 03:40

Robotic prostatectomy expert, Dr. David Samadi discusses the concerning link between prostate cancer hormone therapy and an increased risk of stroke and heart disease. Stressing the importance of early diagnosis through PSA screening, Dr. Samadi explains that radiation and androgen deprivation therapy are used to treat patients with advanced prostate cancer. By lowering testosterone levels hormone therapy can delay the progressions of prostate cancer. However, reduced testosterone levels are linked to higher risk of heart attack, stroke, diabetes, and other serious medical issues. Dr. Samadi believes that robotic prostatectomy surgery is the best prostate cancer treatment following early diagnosis. In patients whose advanced prostate cancer requires hormone therapy, urologists and cardiologists must come together to determine the best course of action.
