R. Peluso, New York

Dr. Samadi, I thought I would write to thank you for my recent Da Vinci Robotic Prostatectomy.

As you know I had read and studied my options extensively and chose robotic surgery as the method to achieve the benefits of surgery with a greatly reduced recovery period.  I chose you as my surgeon because you were consistently recommended as the best in the field by both doctors that I trust and reports I had read.

I have been very positively surprised at the results of my choices.

From the time I arrived at Mount Sinai for my operation until the time I left for home, about 26 hours later, I was treated efficiently, professionally, and compassionately by all I came in contact with.  This treatment included the clerical staff, the nurses who helped me through prep, your anesthesiologist and surgical team, and the nurses who cared for me on the floor for the one night I was there.

I was up and walking around the nurses station within 2 hours from the time I left the recovery room.  At 4 a.m. the next morning I walked for about 15 minutes.  Since coming home I have been walking at least 1 and 1/2 miles per day.  While I have experienced some discomfort, I have not had any pain and have taken no pain medication.  I have resumed a normal diet with no negative effects.  If it were not for the catheter, I would be back at work just 5 days after the surgery.

Thank you again for a job well done.
