D. Hamilton, Connecticut
"We interviewed 4 surgeons and 3 radiation oncologists, and decided on robotic surgery and Dr. Samadi. A urology oncologist with years of experience in open and laparoscopic prostatectomy surgery, Dr. Samadi’s extensive experience with robotic surgery made him our first choice."

"When I chose Dr. Samadi to do my surgery, it was both as a result of personal recommendations and the fact that he had performed over 900 of these procedures and had mastered them."

G. Polvere, New York
"I am truly grateful to Dr. Samadi. The path he took from the Middle East to America enabled me and many others to have the opportunity to be helped by this caring man. A man I now call a friend. I will take a PSA in the end of May. I am confident the result will be OK just as Dr. Samadi promised."

Is There Sex After Prostate Surgery? Yes – If You Choose the Right Procedure

  David B. Samadi, MD

Chief, Division of Robotics and
Minimal Invasive Surgery
Mount Sinai School of Medicine

NEW YORK, Dec. 14 , 2005 -- Men opting for a robotic prostatectomy are more likely to be cancer free as well as being able to return to normal lifestyles, according to David B. Samadi, M.D., of New York. In particular, most men are able to maintain sexual capabilities and bladder control after a robotic prostatectomy. This is different from an open prostatectomy, where men commonly lose continence and ability to have fulfilling sex.

Dr. Samadi is one of the few surgeons skilled in this new minimally invasive technique. Dr. Samadi is an internationally renowned Urologist and Oncologist. He is Chief, Division of Robotics and Minimal Invasive Surgery Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York.

The success rate of the robotic prostatectomy “could not be more positive,” sites Dr. Samadi, based on his four years of experiences and over 300 prostate removals using the da Vinci robotic system.

Unlike open surgery, robotic prostatectomy surgery involves five small "keyhole" incisions in the patient's abdomen, through which extremely fine instruments are inserted, along with a miniscule camera that displays magnified two-dimensional images from inside the body on a screen. The da Vinci Robotic System-- transforms those images into three dimensions, and enables the surgeon's hand movements to be scaled, filtered, and translated into incredibly precise movements. The result is greater precision in both cutting and suturing, less trauma to surrounding tissue, and minimal blood loss."

Most of Dr. Samadi’s robotic prostatectomy patients leave the hospital on the same day, or 1-day after the procedure. Most important, sites Dr. Samadi, his patients have minimal post operative complications. Dr. Samadi has a rapidly growing list of grateful patients and testimonials, indeed, clearly demonstrating his mastery of the robotic prostatectomy procedure. For information, contact Dr. Samadi.
