Sixty-one years of experiences with medical practices for myself as well as for my immediate and extended family has left me with an impression of “mixed feelings”/ Although the care is most often good, the long waiting time and the sometimes arrogant receptionists and rude staff show an inability to empathize with a patient who may be feeling various degrees of discomfort.
So what’s the deal of the second floor of 625 Madison Avenue?
The receptionists are extremely polite and if on is kept waiting, apologies and information as to why there may be wait is offered. The staff all take time answering questions, often the same questions is repeated by a nervous patient (me!)/ Voice-mails are returnedpromptly and billing questions are explained fully. All of these details may be covered in part by other medical practices, but rarely as proficiently as done in your office … and I know it’s no accident!
On July 5th the day of my initial consultation I was a very anxious person. On that day Dr. Samadi explained his “team approach’ and how many of his staff have been involved with him for years. He added that an office away form the “sick environment” of a hospital setting imparts a more positive feeling to a patient… It made so much sense.
Then my surgical journey began and I started meeting people like Rosie and Tressa who helped me compile the medical details for the surgery. I spoke with Maddie in billing, Anna and others on the staff numerous times through the course of the next few weeks, who always were helpful in answering my questions. Of course I have to mention Ann, every patient’s angel: a professional with excellent skills as well as an exuberance that makes me smile when I see her…. Even with a post-op pain when she appeared at my bedside at Mt.Sinai. Lauren, Dr. Chen … if I left out a name please know you are all part of great team.
All your efforts have made a big difference to THIS patient and there is no team not even the Mets or Jets that I hold so dear to my heart. Many thanks from me, the thousands that have come before me and the many who will be treated by you in the future.
P.S. YES… this is the way to run a doctor’s office that should be a model to emulate for all others in your profession!Back to Testimonials
